Back hills of North Carolina post slave trade days. Winter has come and the days are short.
Aunt Phoenix is providing for her grandson whom is ill. She goes to great lengths to meet his physical needs. She is repected by the male traveler and is not frowned down upon in the town square.

This entry is too short. These journals comprise the bulk of the writing in this class, so you need to expend more time and effort writing them. I need to see one good paragraph that contains a more detailed analysis of the story (using several literary terms) and one good paragraph that details your reaction/response to the story. 2/4
