The necklace

Madame Loisel longs to feel pretty and to rid herself of the poverty which she lives in . Her husband treats her with an important invitation to a fabulous party. She is distraught on having no clothing which is elegant. Her husband out of shear love for her gives of his self to meet her needs. He loves her with a never ending love. Madame Loisel is able to escape her own reality and live her fantasy. She views the necklace as the real thing and goes to great lengths to be seen in it and be admired by the same people who would otherwise look down upon her. She looses the prized necklace and uses deception when returning it to the owner. Only years later she finds she has replaced a fake for the real thing. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the street.
2nd attempt:
Madame Loisel is a selfish brat of a lady. She looks out for her own insterest and not that of her loving husband. She longs to be in a better class than the one she is living in. She dreams of being in the upper crust of society. When she is given this opportunity she again shows she only cares for herself and not her husband by longing and ing after things which appear to have great earthly value. In the end there is no earthly value.
Be thankful for the hand you have been dealt. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fense.
